Crochet storage

This weekend was supposed to be a really fullfilling one.  I wanted to do some housework, some 'spring' cleaning.  What I ended up doing was crochet, and watch almost all of season 1 of 'Mr Selfridge'.  I'm loving that show.

The only real organizing I got done was to go from this:

to this:

I have been working on a blanket for my brother, and another blanket for me. They were in separate bags beside the couch, and when I was working I was shoving in the finished squares with the yarn and it was getting messy.  The only thing that was working was having a pencil case for my hooks and scissors. I have one pencil case for each project.

I gave my brother's blanket a break this weekend - the colours don't excite me much but I think he will like them. Instead I started on a granny square.  That's 20 rounds!

I think it looks lovely - and can't wait to start the next square.

Anyway, I wish I had the stamina to sort out the whole of my craft room, but it's too much of a job :(

Week 10

A little bit pretty was my theme for this week's spread.

Washi - eBay chiyogami designs
Korean stickers - eBay
Heart stickers - etsy harvard5f
Note paper - present from my in-law years ago
Floral sticker - etsy harvard5f
Dymo label tape - etsy harvard5f

Still trying to get through my to do list - they were left overs from the weeks before!

I so feel accomplished because Ihave finished office desk.  Here is a peek inside my new drawers.

This has been a very slow project
• making the sorters
• building the drawers
• buying new pen drawers
• sorting, sorting, sorting
• moving everthing to make it work

So that's it at the moment.  It still not perfect - the pink drawers need sorting and I'm not in love with the yellow hold-all.  But it's done.

My next job in this room is my overflowing shelves of work related books.

New Years Day

The saddest thing about New Years is that the Christmas decorations need to go away :(

At least I still have Christmas on Happy Street!

Now for the organisation photos-

As much as possible I keep the original packaging but keep the little bits together using ziplock bags.

These boxes are for the random things like the tree decorations and smaller decorations.  I had to make two more for this year and I also have an Easter box kit pictured.  They are made from old postal boxes.
