Joya necklace from Larry Post

C bought me a present this week.

He got it from Larry Post - an amazing shop by the way if you are a stationary whore.

Pretty awesome right?

I wore it to school yesterday and had two kids try to bite it - admittedly they do look like jawbreakers or something.   They are actually tagua seeds.

Week 13

We'll it is finally school holidays. Although it hasn't been a bad term it has been busy.  I don't feel as though I got what I wanted done.

Tomorrow we are off to Melbourne!  I have been researching shops I would like to go to and booking things so that my planner looks pretty full.

This week was full aswell but not with fun exciting things - more like meetings with big wigs and parents.  I also organised a circus reward afternoon which most of the kids enjoyed.

I went with whales - partly to celebrate the news about the win for the whaling case against Japan.  I would love to visit Japan, like learning (very slowly) the language, and their culture but I don't like their whaling.  Am I allowed to pick and choose like that?  Too bad.

I also went with this theme because I really wanted to use some of my Kikki K stationary.

Whale and sea based stickers and post its - Kikki K
Spotted washi tape - muimuichow on etsy
Heart stickers - harvard5f on etsy

I use the heart stickers to highlight exercise.

We went to a dinner on Saturday which celebrated the song 'Waltzing Matilda' which was written by Banjo Patterson pn a station property near Winton.

C requested I wear the t-Rex necklace.  Look at my eye bags - so tired - haha!

Necklace

I didn't do heaps of shopping in Thailand because the protesting ramped up the first day we got there so no real big shopping complex trips :(

Instead we went to local shops near us including a few costume jewellery places. I actually went back and bought more.

This necklace was one that I bought - and I think the cats like it because they have how both tried to chew on it.

Costume Jewellery Storage

I used to keep jewellery on a tree from Ikea, but then it got too full.

I used to keep jewellery on hooks glued in my cupboard, but this too got too full and the hooks fell off.  Also it's so hot the glue melts at times.

Then I bought an awesome filing cabinet for $10 at a garage sale.  It took me a while to use it because I wanted to spray it red but couldn't find the right paint locally.  I started to move my jewellery into it mid year.  There are still some pieces floating around the house but I'm getting there.

Each draw is labelled with the colour it holds.

Top two drawers are for Erstwilder.

One of my favourite drawers - Rainbow!

I need another one of these for my nail polishes and another for my stationary and art stuff, if I can I would also like one for my sewing... A girl can dream.

Aussie Curves - LBD

I had a fabulous time over the weekend. I had my cousin's wedding and the next day we had a drive on the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.

I found the best store, I can honestly say with hand on heart that this shop is the BEST.  It's called Johanna Designs and is in Kenilworth.

Anyway while I was there, I bought up 6  pieces of jewellery that were from the designer 'Erstwilder'. These earrings...

 How could I say no!

So I put the orange cheetahs with purple leggings, bangle, watch and a black beaded necklace.

You can't really tell that my tights are purple, so here they are:

Pretty darn chuffed with my effort this week.

LBD - Basque. I got this dress on sale for  $12.50, so I bought two, 1 in red and this one. But Myer left the magnet on and I didn't realise until I got back to the place I was staying. When I got to Myer the next day they gave me my money back. I think I've told this story before - but... two free dresses from Myer!

Stockings - Autograph

Shoes - Rubi

Earrings - Erstwilder

DIY - jewellery hangers

I'm a magpie - I collect sparkly things and keep them in my nest. Check out my nest. Not a pretty sight and a bit of a struggle in the morning to grab a necklace to wear.

While I was away I tried to find a jewellrey tree. The current one was from Ikea and I really was looking for something just like it.

All the stands that I found were way too short for most of my necklaces - I was tempted to buy a hatstand!!!

But while I was in Officeworks (give me all the stationary) a saw these hooks that would hold up to 1.5kg.

You see I had tried hooks before but they fell down pretty quickly. I did reglue two of them up using apoxy.

We'll see how it goes this time.

Edit: 10 days later and three have already fallen off!
