Aussie Curves - Animalistic

I've been waiting for this week's theme. I made this top a few weeks ago thinking that I'll had ages and suddenly BAM! It was Animalistic week.

top - made by me using 'vintage' fabric from Ebay - IE: smelled musty before I washed it.
jeans - David Jones - Sara
bubble necklace - from random Ebay store. I swear the jeans and necklace a closer match in real life.
sandals - Rubi

Obligatory roar photos - "Roar"

And just because - a photo of my frozen afternoon snack.

Aussie Curves - Black and White

How did I miss last week entirely? I seriously have no idea. Anyway, I did black and white yesterday.

Added bonus - a behind the scenes shot of me running into the doorway.

Being creative

This weekend I really wanted to 'do' something.

I crocheted, I drew, I gave my painting clear coats.

Feeling pretty happy with myself right about now,,, and I still have half a day to go.

Quick trip to Brissy

I suddenly went on a trip to Brisbane for a writing conference. It was a great course but really screwed with my week. I did get to eat heaps of yummy food.

Belated Valentines

What I wore on Valentines!

Plus heart wrapping paper. I can't help myself - when I see it I buy it.

Chats, chocs and cats

It was a long day; tonight was parent night. Not too many hard questions.

Came home to a husband cooking up a storm and early valentine chocies! Live him lots.

Am now eating and watching TV and playing with the cats.

Weekend stuff

So I wore my new dance shoes this weekend. Pretty comfortable but they rubbed my little toes.

Then Squish came over and loved me.

I then sewed.

And I've painted my nails while I watched TVs under my crochet blanket.

I've put more purple in my hair.

So Sleepy

Growing up I was an insomniac.

I had trouble falling asleep. I would watch the flotsam float across the room and I would imagine stories. I would strip my bed and make up fantastic dresses. When I learnt how to read - I read.

I would walk up way too early. We used to have our milk delivered in the wee hours, and I would often go out and talk to the milkman - he would give me a small carton of milk to drink. I was always awake before the roosters in town crowed. I was always awake to watch the ABC signal pattern turn into a picture of a creek with music, which then turned into cartoons.

It got way too much when I turned into a teenager - I really couldn't take it anymore. I read up about insomnia and started trialing different things.

It worked.

So how I feel right now is nothing to how I used to feel, but I am tired.

What started this is all was that someone made the comment a little while ago that I went to bed too late. I try to get in bed by 11. I wake up a 6:20ish. I didn't think that was too bad - the magic 8 hours sleep is a myth.

But for the last two nights I decided I would try to get to bed earlier.  I did some yoga and went to bed early. The night before last I was in bed by 10, last night was 9:30.  On both occasions I woke up more tired that I usually am and pressed snooze twice.

It's only 4:30pm and I'm already sleepy.  It's too early to tell but I think I'm getting too much sleep.  It's like a drug - I want more.  Since being diagnosed with depression I have been really careful about napping (not that I really did it) which plays havoc with sleep patterns, and this is so making me want to have a nap, and it's playing havoc with my sleep patterns

Maybe I should stop this trial and just accept the fact that I go to bed later then most of my friends!

Just to finish off:
The yoga certainly helps.

 Tired of feeling tired

Except about having too much sleep

Aussie Curves - Stripes

I'm not going near swim suit edition Aussie Curves. Party because I don't wear a swimsuit that you can see underneath board shorts and a sunsafe shirt and even if I did it would be inappropriate for me as a teacher to splash my near naked bod on the Internet. I do have the swimming carnival on Friday so I'll take a photo if I feel like it.

So I went back and did the stripe (I typed strip which would have been even more inappropriate than swimmers) challenge instead.

I don't often wear horizontal stripes. I've taught fashion for long enough to know about the fashion rules - but I always teach my kids the final rule - wear want you want. In my case I've found that horizontal stripes across my acreage of boob-age makes it look even bigger. So I tend to break them up with a vest or in this case the scarf. I don't care what the back look likes because I don't see it! Out of mind...

Top - I made this one
Jeans - Autograph
Shoes - Rubi
Scarf - Millers

I made a cake

It's gluten free and made with almonds. It's a practice run for later in the week when I have to make it for someone's birthday. It rose differently from a normal cake and we will see how it tastes tonight. Did I make it pretty enough?

New shoes news

Nothing better than ending a hard week of work with a few pairs of new shoes in the post.

If I find a pair of shoes I like and it comes in different colours - I buy them all!
