Aussie Curves - Celebrity Copycat

I'm not much for following celebrities, the only magazine I get on subscription is Frankie and any that I buy are usually crafty or sometimes if I'm in the airport I will get Oyster or something fashiony.

So then I started thinking about characters that I might like to emulate.

Jess from New Girl?
Joan from Sherlock?
Penny from The Big Bang Theory?
Lemon from Hart of Dixie?

But then I realised...

Penelope Garcia from Criminal Minds.  Kirsten Vangsness is all sorts of awesome.

I've had people say that I do remind them of her, and I would have loved to have gone all out with the heals and big hair but I was going to work and I was running late already.  I did want to put clip-in coloured hair extensions but I forgot to.

Lipstick - check!
Funky earrings - check!
Chunky necklace - forgot!

Bright floral dress - check!

Funky heals - not safe for work so I went with jellies!

It brought some colour to work - and the kids loved it.

It was World Teachers' Day yesterday.  We were spoiled by our lovely friends with decorations and a huge lunch.

Gelicious - Dip in the Pool

Ooh so pretty.  This was my previous fortnight's colour, sorry I forgot to post earlier.

I did two coats and although you can sort of see the nail line in the photos in real life it wasn't so bad.

Really did remind me of sun glinting on the ocean.

Update my current mani - I broke my thumb nail and so had to remove the polish off that nail.  I have a small chip on my index fingers but I have been building furniture this week.

Aussie Curves - Pink

I thought this week would be easy for me but apparently I don't have as much pink in my wardrobe as I thought.  Plus I wasn't really feeling it this week.

Come Friday and I realised I still hadn't worn any pink so I went all out extra special to make it up to myself.  I wore a dress.

Dress - Autograph
Shoes - Ko
Belt - ?

Although I like these sandals they are pink and brown which reminds me of Turkish Delight too much.  But I went with it and even put on a brown belt.

So many people at work complimented me on my dress - even men.  My friend Sunny was so exited (easily excitable) that my whole outfit matched.  Apparently when I was talking up on parade to the kids, she noticed and told everyone around her.  I'm going to miss her when she transfers :( the life of a teacher.

Do you have Secret Santas at your work?  At the moment we are doing Secret Trick or Treaters. I get little yummy presents left on my desk - usually with a  joke or two. I have no idea who it is yet... Someone with access to the colour printer...

Gelicious - Thankful

'Thankful' is a very nice nude.  I used two coats but on my left I used the optional base coat & on the right I just applied the colour.  Both got the ultra glaze top coat.

I want to see if the base coat actually does anything and maybe it will make it easier to remove if I don't use it.

For the last two manicures my thumb nail  chipped on the outer side.  I made sure to give that edge more of a buff so hopefully that will work.

Walk home this afternoon

Baby emu - poor things are suffering out here with the drought, so they are coming into town.

Elephant top is fab.

Hot sun through the tree branches of our gum tree.

New shoes won most compliments ever given for a pair of shoes award.  Bonus - along the path that I walk to work, there is an unwound cassette tape, it makes me smile every time I see it. Should have picked it up by now to put it in the bin but,,, Oh nostalgia.

Aussie Curves - Stripes

Went outside.  I'm so bored of my sewing room door, but I had to wait until after all the guys from the council depot that park outside my house left for home. They probably wouldn't care but it's a small town and people talk.  The first time I put a load of washing out, the next day I had a student tell me I had nice underwear.  Yep.

Dress - Autograph
Shoes - Jelly Beans
Brooch - Erstwilder

Our house is a cheap rental - it's my home because it's where my stuff is.  Don't judge me on the state of the building - haha!

Why, hello there. Aren't you a cute Zebra?

Cats and Crochet

My last day of holidays was spent finishing off some planning then I sat and watched The Big Bang Theory, crocheted my blanket and talked to cats.

Baking

This week I wanted to bake.

I used to make the most awesome biscuits which were in the Women's Weekly Big Book of Beautiful Biscuits. My copy went missing in my first year of Uni, which put a stop to my baking of these most beautiful of biscuits.  I used to put nuts, choc chips, glaze cherries - anything really - into them.

I bought a 'new to me' copy of the book from eBay but what was I to do in the meanwhile? I went online thinking that if this is such a great recipe then surely I'm not the only one who has made them - so here is the recipe. Phew, crisis over, now it's time to bake.

I used Reese's peanut butter choc chips. Yum! I also forgot how much they spread. Unfortunetly I lost half my batch because I accidentally bumped the oven dial up to 250'C and burnt them :(

The other thing that I haven't baked in while was bread.  So on Wednesday, I followed the recipe here, and then cooked the bread in the slow cooker following the instructions here.

This is what 4 loaves of bread look like when it's proving.  You make up the dough and leaven if for 2 hours. Then you put the whole container in the fridge where it can live for about 2 weeks.

Fresh loaf from the slow cooker. So easy. The loaf is pretty small but there is only 2 of us anyway.

I made two loaves on Thursday and took them to my husband's work.  I cooked one in the oven and the other in the slow oven.  Although the oven made the bread have a crispy crust, I think the slow cooked bread was better, it was like a steamed bun with a slightly chewy crust.

So yes, pretty chuffed with myself this morning.

Legs - I've got them

And I know how to use them,,, to walk to school.

I crack myself up.

I have a workout schedule. Do you want to see it?

Monday - Arms
Tuesday - Voice (choir practice)
Wednesday - Legs
Thursday - Core
Friday - Nothing
Saturday - A DVD of something, Walk Away the Pounds, or Jillian Micheals etc.
Sunday - As per Sunday or Nothing

It's pretty rough really and although I like to stick with it I often don't. During the week the workouts are small - usually 10-15 minute ones from YouTube or my own. After a while I really get sick of listening to the instructor and I try to drown them out with music, but last year I started thinking that it would be pretty easy to put together my own videos and that way I can pick and choose what I like.

I like low impact (knees and boob issues) and usually standing.

Would you like to see one? They aren't anything fantastic - just timed images telling you what to do, with a bell going off when you need to change.  If you use it - just remember that this for my own personal use and I take no responsibility for any injuries that you may incur. Also - please don't re-post it.

I leave the end image as 'Stretches' so that I can cool down and stretch for however long I want and stretch what I want. I like a good stretch :)

Presenting: Pammy's LEGS Mix

This is the one that I did this morning - holidays really stuff up my schedule. It's nice and easy and beat of the song is what sets the pace.

At the moment I'm listening to this playlist:

Aussie Curves - Festival

This theme would have normally been pretty good timing, last week our town held it's biannual Outback Festival.  But for the first time since we moved here - 10 years ago - we went away instead. We got back yesterday.

So this week I'm celebrating just being on holidays - housework in between marking assignments and planning for next term.

Shirt - Sara
Pedal pushers - doesn't that sound quaint? - Crossroads
Sandals - Target
Earrings - Erstwilder

One issue with having a large frontal capacity is that often button-up shirts bulge. To over come this I wear a camisole underneath and unbutton the top down to where it fits better, but this gets hot and I live in desert like conditions.

Sometimes I get lucky and find a shirt that fits pretty well over my boobs but is a better fit on my shoulders and tummy, in this case I ladder stitch the areas that look they would pull.

So that's what I did yesterday with a few new tops.

Can't see my bra can you?
